Singapore, 17 July 2025 — What stops you from practicing leadership actions every day?
Story
It happened yesterday. The team of mentors in the Grow3Leaders community of practice organized our first webinar. They shared their own experiences after joining the community and informed the participants about two upcoming leadership challenges they can join: the LEADweek Challenge and the Workplace Challenge.
Leading from Where You Are: Small Steps, Real Impact. That was the webinar title. The tagline was that just 15 minutes a day can make the difference. This is where our approach is different from others. Rather than prioritizing more knowledge, we focus on daily practice. Showing up is key. We call it Doing the Dailies.
The globally renowned executive coach Marshall Goldsmith says it like this: “There are people who do the work, those who don’t. That makes all the difference.” We see this every day. Those who show up for daily practice will grow their leadership rapidly. And they model the way for the others to follow their example.
Challenge
The fastest and reliable way to grow your leadership is to show up with effective leadership behaviors more frequently. Your frequency and consistency of showing up make the difference. The challenges we offer in Grow3Leaders are designed to help you do that: show up consistently.
Showing up daily for 15 minutes is key. It will help you build a streak of growth. You will definitely feel good about achieving that. Keeping your progress up is a challenge, for sure, and you will succeed when you take small steps daily that bring real impact to you and other leaders around you.
Why do we call the community Grow3Leaders? Because inviting three colleagues to form a Collab and practice together with you will accelerate your leadership growth tremendously. Together, you will keep on track with mutual inspiration, support, and accountability.
Question
Our question for you this week is: What stops you from practicing leadership actions daily? Of course, the are many possible reasons. Our Perspectives Mentor Fany, Positivity Mentor Terry, and Crossgen Moderator Arief explained in the webinar that intentionality is key. When your intentionality is weak, reasons turn into excuses. These will stop you in your tracks and sabotage the growth that brings out your potential.
Leaders, I discovered, decide to be unreasonable. Driven by more than reason, they are guided by their vision, strengths, and values. They are careful how they spend their time. And because they keep going the extra mile for what they believe in, they also look after themselves with radical self-care and compassion, which is part of their leadership hygiene. We also practice how to do that.
If you dare to become unreasonable, then come and join us with your intentionality to grow your leadership. The LEADweek Challenge starts this Sunday with you sharing what inspires you for leadership in the coming week. It’s a small step. Then you will discover how to build a strong and varied leadership routine for every day of the week. You are welcome to come by yourself, and it’s even better to invite three colleagues to join you and form a Collab together for your practice.
