Jakarta, 18 June 2025 — How many leaders are you growing in your workplace this month?

Story

It happened in 2019. We established the Grow3Leaders community of practice. As the name suggests, the purpose is to stretch ourselves to grow more leaders. To do that, we invite colleagues to join us in taking on a leadership challenge together in our community.

In our world today, the knowledge about leadership is abundant. Resources are everywhere, and access is further multiplied by AI. So, what is scarce when it comes to leadership development? In one word, practice! And, especially, to practice together in a safe space.

Professionals who have taken one or more leadership challenges in our community have discovered that practicing leadership behaviors daily together with colleagues has made a huge difference in growing as leaders, and in growing more leaders around them.

Challenge

If practice is the key to developing your leadership abilities and to growing more leaders around you — and I bet that you’re not surprised to read this — then how to get started? Well, the best way to get started is to take a carefully designed challenge together with your colleagues.

How does taking a leadership challenge stand out from collecting more knowledge in a regular training event? Deciding to do the challenge together with three colleagues you invite is one. Investing 15 minutes daily in the community to learn out loud together is two. Being accountable for results together is three.

Additionally, we are endlessly creative in our community to explore more ways of learning. This week, members offered out-of-the-box innovations for sharing ideas unpressured and — quite the opposite — for introducing some competitive elements into their leadership practice.

Question

If leaders are people who grow more leaders, an idea that has resonated in cultures around the world, then let’s ask a powerful and possibly confronting question this week: How many leaders are you growing in your workplace this month?

We would love to hear from you with your response. And for those of you who work independently as freelancers and solopreneurs, our definition of workplace includes your clients and collaborating partners in your projects.

Our approach to leadership development focuses on you as a leader taking on challenges alongside colleagues in your workplace, as part of your daily work. Growing more leaders leads to positive change and impact. It’s the best way to grow as a leader. Join us to experience it for yourself.
