ACTivity/ The LEADweek Challenge

Split, 22 October 2024 — How to set yourself up for leadership success with a strong weekly routine.

Story

It happened over the past 15 years. For as long as we have coached leaders, we observed how the most successful among them shared something in common. Invariably, they used a robust routine for themselves and their teams each day of the week. By consistently using their weekly routine, they had set themselves up for success as leaders, week after week.

Building a weekly leadership routine is not as easy as it sounds. After we make a start, the initial positive energy we experienced in an Aha moment of inspiration will soon fizzle out. That’s where practicing together deliberately over time will make a difference, deploying a combination of inspiration, challenge, and collaboration that includes accountability.

To help you step into the footsteps of successful leaders, we are introducing another leadership challenge in our Grow3Leaders community of practice. Starting on Sunday 10 November—yes, on a Sunday rather than a Monday—we start The LEADweek Challenge to help you and your team build a robust routine for your weekly leadership practice, seven days a week. Not to worry, it includes plenty of celebration and inspiration, especially during the weekend.

Challenge

Should every leader have the same weekly routine? Yes and No. Drawing on our experience coaching leaders around the world, we will share several indispensable elements of a weekly leadership practice to set you up for success. Then, after you practice hands-on for three weeks and graduate from The LEADweek Challenge, you can tweak the routine to what works best for you and your team.

We pointed to the importance of accountability. Practicing together, supporting one another, and holding each other accountable for progress and results will open the door to supercharging your leadership. Taking the challenge together makes a big difference. That’s why we ask you to invite three workplace colleagues and form a Collab, leading to more and faster results and fun.

What you will learn together as you practice in The LEADweek Challenge will power up your performance as leaders, both individually and collectively. Plus you get to learn from the experiences of other leaders in the Grow3Leaders community of practice. In the run-up to 10 November, we will post the information you need to get started in the Grow3Leaders community.

Question

Our question for you this week is this. What do you think is most important in the weekly routine of highly successful leaders? We love to hear from you about your positive experiences so far, and also about what didn’t work and the obstacles you encountered.

Among the many benefits of developing a strong weekly leadership routine, think of being able to focus on priorities more easily, reducing stress and decision fatigue, and aligning teamwork for higher productivity and outcomes across the business. Moreover, with a weekly leadership routine, you and your team will be empowered to collaborate better, with clarity of purpose and a stronger sense of motivation and commitment.

None of this will happen automatically. It needs deliberate and consistent work to get there. Joining us in Grow3Leaders for The LEADweek Challenge will help you get inspired every week, plan your week’s activities, build better relationships with others, reflect on results and lessons learned, and much more. Reach out with your questions and set up a free Meet and Greet Call when you have formed your Collab.
